How To Boost Energy Levels

Energy!

Who doesn’t want more?

I don’t think I have ever heard anyone say they don’t want more energy.

Energy can be depleted in so many ways, from physical work, mental challenges, emotional stress or your environment, but there are ways to help maintain and restore it.

Here are some examples to help boost energy levels:

Eat quality nutrition – have a healthy balance of carbohydrates, fats and protein daily with variety of fruits and vegetables.

Have adequate amounts of sleep – typically most research suggests around 8 hours of sleep per night is recommended for good health, recovery and rest.

Drink plenty of water – 8 glasses per day is the general recommendation for health and wellness, however more may be necessary if exercising or living in hot climates.

Manage stress levels – stress isn’t always easy to manage. However, can be one of the greatest drains on energy. Implement mindset techniques, meditation, time in nature, and avoidance of stressful situations.

Avoid toxic situations where possible – similar to above, toxic environments, social settings and unhealthy relationships are excessively draining on energy levels. Try to avoid where necessary or develop strategies to improve the situation.

Rest when necessary – rest is essential for improving energy. Stay in tune with your body and take cues to rest when needed. Even a 5 minute rest can be beneficial.

Use adaptogens – adaptogens are traditional herbs that assist with energy levels, stress reduction and balancing the body to regular levels of a normal functional state.

Exercise for general fitness and well-being – exercise is great for the body and the mind and boosts energy and endorphins. Regular exercise can assist with health, well-being, alertness and improving energy levels.

Laugh – we all know how good it feels to laugh. Find entertainment each and every day and allow yourself to laugh often.

It is important to find a happy balance of what works for you. Do more of what makes you feel good and less of what drains you, as this will fuel your energy levels and it feels good to just feel good.
